The Adkins Association inc. Philosophy

The Adkins Association Inc. believes…

…that the basis of architecture is creative problem-solving. We take pride in addressing the needs and concerns of all parties involved in a project. We then merge the solutions into an end product where there is ownership on the part of all involved.

Our priorities…

…as architects are placed on forming a team in collaboration with our clients, presenting choices and answers, and serving as interpreter, educator, and catalyst. We believe that we can learn from those who come to us for help and that there are many new opportunities with each new project we encounter.

However, as designers…

…we do not have a preconception or a formula for the design process. Instead, we begin a process-oriented approach by gathering information about the site and the program requirements and priorities. Then, as we interact with our client’s design team, we adapt our procedures to optimize communication.

Through this interaction, the design evolves to reflect our client’s unique culture and vision and by our own innovative approaches and experience.

When a project is done…

…we don’t just lose interest and move on to the next one. Instead, we maintain an active interest in our completed projects. We welcome client feedback and are happy to answer questions about their project when they arise.

One of our favorite things about our business is the ongoing relationships we develop. There is nothing more enjoyable than returning to a building 30 years later to do an update.
