Window failure is the most common cause of requested window replacements. It can occur when products have aged, are the wrong or poor quality products for the installation, or have been incorrectly installed and detailed.
Using the wrong product, such as an unrated residential type of window in a commercial or institutional multi-story facility, has proven disastrous due to leaking and failing conditions. Along with these issues come structural and fire-related concerns as well.
When historical concerns are a factor, strong, low-maintenance window exteriors with wood interiors are often required. In extreme cases of historical registration, rebuilding the windows may be chosen. First, we remove and replace rotted and missing pieces. Then we can reglaze and re-gasket the windows, all under the review of a historical agency. Our goal is to provide a seamless installation that adheres to the historical tenants of the building.
