These facilities often require larger footprints for lower cost building assemblies. Often a multitude of construction functions and HVAC ventilation systems are required for the building occupancy. These vary from basic uncontrolled storage areas to humidity-controlled specialty storage areas. Clean rooms and areas with controlled temperatures and filtration are prevalent in these technological-influenced times. Our challenge is to coordinate an overall system which provides solutions….where high moisture environments are incurred due to the plant’s processes. Controlling humidity levels and exhaust are as critical as having non-corrosive finishes. Working with the client to implement their production equipment for best-fit use is crucial to building assembly, use of space as well as ensuring safety in their workspace for exiting and fire protection
Services Provided: Site selection, site plan review, programming, process plans implementation, bid format construction drawings. Special systems design.
The Challenge: AmeriPride was losing their lease on an existing facility during a real estate boom caused by the oil fracking industry. The facility must be able to disperse, recover and withstand high humidity and water.
The Solution: Since existing facilities of this size were unavailable in the area, it was decided to build a new plant in an industrial park close to the airport. This would be the first time in the company’s 100+ years that a completely new facility was built. It was designed to recycle wash water, limit storm and sanitary water discharge, withstand and remove extremely humid air and capture heat.
